Writing for Life
Discovering Your Creative Voice

with Kaylene Johnson

May 30- June 2, 2013

Native craftsmen have said that they carve in order to release the spirit of the object or animal that they are carving.

As a craft, writing is a means to explore the inner territory of our own creativity.

Explore how writing can open doors of possibility and release the beauty inherent in creative work.

You will enjoy writing exercises and discussions aimed to give voice to and support the spirit of creativity. There will be quiet time of reflection, guided writing exercises and sharing. We will also "play" with other art forms and discover how one art medium can inform another.

This retreat is for anyone wanting to explore the possibility that writing holds in their lives. Beginner writers welcome! For participants who have an idea they would like to pursue, this retreat will offer an enriched and supportive environment to launch it.

Participants may wish to explore possibilities of writing they had not yet considered:

          • Memoirs
          • Narratives
          • Autobiographies, etc.
